Ordered a carne asada taco salad earlier in the week and while it wasn't much to the eye, it had a great deal of flavor and was more filling than I thought it would. Went back this evening craving enchilada. Ordered asada and green sauce. I was bummed when I got home to find my order had red sauce instead. You know how you really get your hopes up for something and it ends up not being that? I wasn't crazy about the meal but I'm not sure if it's because I just wasn't... or if it's because I had my hopes set on the green sauce. The carne asada also didn't pack the same flavor as earlier in the week, but again, could have been impacted by the sauce I received. Why 4 stars instead of 3? Because I've had a great meal there and WILL be back for better luck with green enchiladas. ”
“ When we entered San Marcos Taqueria on a Saturday at 6:30pm with only a few patrons inside and out and the floors definitely needing to be swept and the place feeling a bit run down we were nervous but we were in the mood and willing to take a chance (thanks to fellow Yelper reviews). We were happy we tried them. After we sat down the waitress immediately brought free (not too greasy) chips to our table and pointed to their help yourself covered salsa bar for salsas, etc. The beautiful Enchilada Plate was fantastic. $10.99 Although not on their menu I asked if they could make a Chicken Burrito Bowl with the works. The cook said no problem and it was the best burrito bowl I've ever had with lots of cilantro and fresh beautiful tomatoes and so much more. It was fantastic. The price? Crazy low for what it was at only $8.25 Thank you San Marcos. Imported beers $3.50 Can of soda $1.00 Good service. Funky place and I loved it. I felt like we were in Mexico and when in Manteca we will definitely be back. ”
